Born and raised in Milton, Richard G. Wells Jr. has dedicated his life to this community — as a police officer, as Chief of Police, and now as your State Representative on Beacon Hill.

Born, Raised & Rooted in Milton
Richard Wells is a proud product of Milton — a graduate of Milton High School and holder of a Master's degree in Criminal Justice from Boston University. He didn't just grow up here; he chose to stay, to serve, and to build his life in the community he loves.
He served on the Milton Police Department for 32 years, dedicating his final 9 years as Police Chief. As Chief, Richard didn't just enforce the law — he built bridges. He championed community policing, strengthened relationships between officers and residents, and led with integrity through some of the most challenging moments in public safety.
After the department, Richard continued his service on the Milton Select Board for 9 years, shaping local policy, advocating for responsible budgets, and fighting for the families of Milton and Randolph. Now, he brings those same proven leadership skills to the Massachusetts Legislature.

Richard is committed to ensuring that ALL people in our beloved Milton and Randolph neighborhoods are valued and receive essential support, especially in the areas of public education and public safety.
Building relationships and securing resources for Milton are the cornerstones of Richard's career. Throughout his four decades as a public servant, he has fought to improve the quality of the lives of students, residents, seniors, and members of our business community.
He believes we all deserve a vibrant and supportive community in which to live, work, worship, raise a family, and thoroughly enjoy our golden years.
Volunteer Work
Focused on giving voice to the voiceless and serving the underserved, Richard has built a career around community engagement — not just in office, but in the neighborhoods, schools, and organizations that make Milton and Randolph strong.
I am very lucky to work with many dedicated individuals, town employees and dozens of citizens who volunteer.
